Making the news this week is one Julian Assange of Wikileaks who was arrested by London police this Thursday after Ecuador waved his asylum they had previously  granted. Assange long a thorn in the side of US intelligence services faces extradition to the United States of America where a sample charge of attempting to hack into US  Defence dept. computers and obtain classified material, more serious charges are likely to be brought after extradition.

What to make of Julian Assange and Wikileaks ? Whistleblower ? Frontman  ? Truth outer ? Journalist ? Guess it depends on what side of the fence you are on. He published a account of War Crimes committed in Iraq , US state Dept diplomatic cables to their embassies across the world, an Archive of Hilary Clinton emails however they were obtained. Wikileaks getting involved with USA Presidential election in 2016 was a mistake, no thanks were likely from the Republican party and he irked US intelligence services plenty.

The truth is a scarce commodity with the press- newspapers, TV , radio and online media. Its tends to be half the story a lot of the time, omission and  out and out lies quiet a lot do. The establishment won’t be long in “shutting you up”.. they will dig dirt on you, invent it if necessary and there is always out and out intimidation and murder.

Mr Assange made himself a target and they concocted a rape charge in Sweden to “get” him. One wonders if Mr Assange knew the risks of what he was doing and if his sponsor will be able to “protect” him from lengthly incarceration and possible execution. They will have to make quiet a fuss to protect him. Truth is scare but needs telling, possibly from people like Julian Assange. One hopes he survives the present episode.

70th Anniversary of the UN Declaration of Human Rights.

Monday 10th December was the anniversary of the UN Declaration of Human Rights which was declared in December 1948. They are good principles to live by but its a shame that nearly all governments just pay lip service to them. Don’t think the world as such has progressed a lot since 1948. Here’s two short videos to explain them to you. See whether you believe your country measures up.

U.S.A pulls the plug on Climate Accord.

Making the news of late is the fact that Donald Trump U.S President has withdrawn the U.S.A from the Paris Climate Accord. It comes as little surprise with Trump’s pre-election pledges to big business and after his trip to Saudi Arabia with $480 billion in arms deals. The move I gather is done to largely protect the oil industry from alternative forms of energy being developed to met emissions targets and other anti-pollution measures. People will continue to breathe fumes in the larger cities and pollution will continue with industry refusing to clean up after it self. Clean water, clean air will be increasing difficult to manage. The move by the U.S has largely wrecked the accord with many countries now unlikely to meet targets. The impact on the world climates is unknown with more storms, droughts and floods likely. Its a very greedy action and everyone is likely to pick up the tab.

U.S.A 2016 Presidential election

usa_2016The day is finally here and its the 8th November- election day in the U.S.Don’t exactly know what way it will go but Mrs Clinton is the favourite of the establishment. Mr Trump is looked on as somewhat of a outsider. Hopefully the americans will put an end to it and have the results sometime on Tuesday night. There is apparently more than two candidates, who we never heard of so here is Jill stein of the Green party.
